VISUAL ARTIST RECEIVES GOLDEN WEB AWARD FROM IAWMD
BERKELEY, CA Berkeley-based artist Elizabeth Hack has received a Golden Web Award from the International Association of Web Masters and Designers (IAWMD) for the design of her website http://www.elizabethhack.com.The IAWMD is an association of web professionals with members in more than 130 countries. The award is presented to those sites whose "web design, originality and content have achieved levels of excellence deserving recognition". Elizabeth Hack, who is not a web professional, competed with hundreds of professional web designers throughout the world. Other recent award recipients included Miller Beer for the site www.millerbrewing.com and American Greetings for the site www.americangreetings.com. Hack received the Golden Web Award for her concept and design of an online exhibition space. The cyber gallery features her paintings the Wave Series -- an ongoing project that incorporates mixed media. "The web site is an outgrowth of my paintings, which I consider inner landscapes. Excavating through the composition, my work expresses energy and spirit. It is who I am. Being able to express yourself, regardless of the medium is what art is all about."
